Law Enforcement is in crisis. There are recruiting and retention issues throughout the country. Officers are killing themselves at tragic rates. Change is needed especially when it comes to the culture of policing. That change starts with you. Navigating a career in law enforcement is never easy and we often are left feeling as though we don’t have the power or knowledge to make a difference. We can only control so much but all too often we give up control on how we approach situations and how we react to outside influences because of what we believe others’ perceptions are. The collateral damage results in the sacrifice of our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Regardless of your gender, rank, assignment, or level of experience, this course will provide you with the necessary tools in order to level up and excel within this profession as an individual, as a team member, and as a leader.

Heather Glogolich

Heather Glogolich started her law enforcement career in 2004. She is presently a lieutenant in a municipal police agency in the State of New Jersey and she is assigned to the patrol division. In her present assignment, Lieutenant Glogolich is a Patrol Supervisor with collateral duties that include overseeing the Community Policing Unit and serving as the agency’s Domestic Violence Liaison, Internship Coordinator, and LGBTQ+ Liaison. During the course of her career, she has been assigned to a multitude of diverse assignments including patrol, school resource officer, traffic safety officer, and has performed the role of field training officer. Additionally, she currently is one of the Vice Presidents for New Jersey Women in Law Enforcement (NJWLE).

Lt. Glogolich earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Caldwell University in Criminal Justice and then went on to earn dual Master’s Degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Administrative Science and Homeland Security. She is currently attending Saint Elizabeth University as a doctoral student seeking her Ph.D. in Higher Education with a Servant Leadership focus. Lt. Glogolich also serves as an adjunct professor for the Criminal Justice Department at Saint Elizabeth University. In addition to her impressive resume filled with achievements and accolades, Heather Glogolich survived a harrowing domestic violence incident in 2008 at the hands of her ex-husband. Instead of allowing it to break her, she shares her story as a survivor through speaking presentations and victim advocacy.
