“Pedestrians, Consensuals, Pedalcycles” taught by Officer James Petrucci, is a
comprehensive course specifically designed to equip police officers with the necessary skills to effectively police diverse jurisdictions. This class places significant emphasis on pedestrian and bicycle laws, as well as conducting stops in these situations. It underscores the notion that even minor infractions can potentially lead to the discovery of more serious drug and gun-related offenses. By highlighting the importance of addressing crime in high-crime areas and enforcing laws to create safer communities, P.C.P. ensures that officers are thoroughly prepared and confident in their ability to lawfully stop suspicious individuals. In addition, you will learn how to utilize intelligence, enabling you to identify targets more efficiently. The class aligns with the broken windows theory, demonstrating that apprehending a suspect for a seemingly minor offense like jaywalking can effectively prevent subsequent incidents, such as retail theft or neighborhood burglaries.
